Gebroeders Duijvestijn
Four brothers aiming for innovation and quality in the fruit and vegetable sector—where have we seen that before? That's right, there are many similarities between the family business Duijvestijn Tomatoes and Van Gelder Groente en Fruit.
In 1988, the brothers Ted, Peter, Ronald, and later Remco Duijvestijn took over the greenhouse farming business from their father, Leo. In Honselersdijk, Westland, they started to build on the foundation their father had established since 1953. Today, the brothers cultivate nearly 15 hectares of tomatoes in Pijnacker. The four brothers focus on innovation and quality to offer the best tomatoes.
"Annually, we package and process about 10 million kilos of fresh tomatoes," says Peter Duijvestijn proudly. "The tomatoes are hand-picked and subjected to a rigorous selection process." The tomato grower from Pijnacker focuses on sustainably growing quality tomatoes, being innovative and entrepreneurial in the process. They are involved in various sustainable initiatives and collaborate with organizations like Wageningen University and Delft University of Technology.
